# archive_quota

> Archive a quota, or restore an archived one. Archived quotas keep feeding the statements already measured against them.

Archive a quota, or restore an archived one.

Archiving puts the quota away, as in the web app: it is listed with the
archived quotas ([`list_quotas`](https://docs.qobra.co/mcp_documentation/tools/list_quotas) with
`archived` true), can no longer be picked in a new compensation rule, and is no
longer synchronized. The compensations already measured against it keep
computing with its values — archiving does not take the quota out of any
statement. Pass `archived` false to restore it.

Sending the state the quota is already in changes nothing, so the same call can
be sent twice.

The quota's environment (live or a sandbox) is the one the quota lives in.

Requires delete permission on quotas, as archiving does in the web app.
Available only where the Qobra write tools beta is enabled. Every write to the
live environment is recorded in the audit trail as the `Qobra MCP` agent;
writes to a sandbox are not audited.

```json Example arguments theme={null}
{
  "quota_id": "665f1c2e8a4b3d0012a7e9f1",
  "archived": true
}
```
